AT&T offers free WiFi for iPhone users

A MacRumors tipster has discovered a treat for iPhone users from AT&T. It would seem that AT&T is offering free wireless internet access via an iPhone in Starbucks (we posted about the Starbucks-AT&T deal a little while ago) as well as in Barnes and Nobles and 71,000 other locations.

MacRumors notes that you must enter your mobile iPhone number as a means of verification. A picture of the portal home page is available on MacRumors.

Flickr Find: Grand Theft Auto hides Apple and iPhone parody

Filed under: Gaming, Humor, Cult of Mac, Flickr Find, iPhone

What do the authors of Grand Theft Auto IV think about Apple users? Tossers. (Warning: definition link NSFW). They’ve embedded a brilliant Apple parody into one of the Internet cafe computers in the game.

Among other points, they take down Apple (called “Fruit”) for being overpriced minimalism. A white shiny unit, superficially similar to the “i” sits next to a near-cinema display and readers are encouraged to “Think Fruit” and live in the Fruit Cocoon.

And if that’s not enough, the site advertises a new banana-shaped iFruit phone. Its sales points made me laugh out loud: No buttons, no reception, no storage capacity, all Ego!

Kudos to GTAIV and thanks to Dylan Unutmaz for sending in the links.

Microsoft Puts the Squeeze on Apple with Flash, Silverlight Support for Windows Mobile
Steve Jobs might want to look in his rearview mirror, because there’s a hulking eighteen-wheeler barreling down the highway, belching thick black smoke, and crushing every vehicle in its path. The software giant is working with long time rival Adobe to bring Flash player Lite (yes, THAT Flash player) to Windows Mobile devices, while simultaneously […]

iPhone to Feature Unlimited Movie Downloads, 37-Foot Screen

After rumors of an extreme price-drop and black glossy appearance, new details about the iPhone 3G keep dripping like Princess Peach’s bathroom faucet: a New York-based TV station has got exclusive details, pointing out in its news ticker that Apple’s wonderphone will feature “unlimited movie downloads.” The channel’s rumor record is practically flawless, as demonstrated by their prediction on the extension of the Iron Man trailer into a full-length movie. Full video after the jump.

Apparently, the news ticker also pointed out that the new iPhone will have a 37-foot screen, but an official channel representative has confirmed to us that this was just a typo: “I think the guys from the news ticker really meant 3.7 inches,” the TV station’s night janitor said on a phone interview.

In relation to these breaking news, Jason Chen—Gizmodo’s senior associate editor—pointed out that he didn’t want to be disturbed while he was playing GTA IV. “Frack off!” he declared. [The Onion]

First Music Video Featuring iPhone Interface Has the Unfortunate Title of “Smell Yo D*ck” (NSFW)

After nearly a year, the iPhone has finally received its first [Questionably the first, but definitely the worst - Ed.] starring role in a music video. Unfortunately, the video is “Smell Yo Dick”, by sassy rapper Riskay. In the self-explanatory guide to detecting cheaters, the phone is featured in a variety of situations both good (a friend takes pictures of Riskay’s man with another woman) and evil (Riskay’s boyfriend declines her call). By the end, Riskay sends her man’s beloved JesusPhone flying off the balcony, but it’s the phone that gets the last laugh—it still works. We can only imagine what Steve Jobs will say when he finds out about this. The video, filled with NSFW language, below. [via Jezebel]
