AT&T Flip Flops on One iPhone Policy
I’ve come to the conclusion that AT&T just loves toying with us when it comes to the iPhone. Just days after limiting buyers to a single iPhone, it’s back to the old threefer rule—apparently they found enough iPhones lying around in a closet somewhere to go back to biz as usual. AT&T to Complete Their 3G Network in June
This isn’t huge news that will change your life, but AT&T is aiming to have the first round of their HSPA 3G network complete by the end of June. The company is addressing their network’s upload speed, bringing High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) in to complement the existing High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) in their last six markets.
Their HSPA network will then be finalized, bringing 1.4 Mbps (Down) and 800 Kbps (Up) to all users in its range. AT&T’s next move will be offering HSPA in more markets. By the end of June, HSPA will be in 275 US markets. But by the end of the year, AT&T plans for that number to grow to 350. [AT&T via Phone Scoop]

AppStore is on the way. How much are you willing to pay?
Apple’s iPhone-based AppStore is sure to debut sometime in the next month or two. My guess is that it will launch at WWDC, with select close partners at the launch and then a general opening to the rest of the third-party developers. I’d be quite surprised if AppStore launched and allowed immediate access to everyone who wanted to post an application for sale.
Follow the jump for more thoughts and questions.

IntelliScreen Brings Useful Widgets to iPhone’s Home Screen
Instead of just staring the time, date and your choice of wallpaper when you start up the iPhone, why not make it more Windows Mobile-y by putting useful information there*? The app IntelliScreen lets you show either your upcoming calendar items, recent emails, recent text messages, the weather, or even an RSS feed up on the standby screen, letting you see what you need to see without even unlocking your phone. Useful? Definitely. Cluttered? For sure.
It’s also in beta, and may crash or even wipe some of your data if it conflicts with some of your other apps. Be careful.
* Yes this is one of the few times that people want to make the iPhone more like Windows Mobile.

Griffin iTrip AutoPilot FM transmitter for iPhone
Filed under: Accessories, iPod Family, iPhone

The iTrip AutoPilot from Griffin is one of the first FM transmitter/chargers compatible with the iPhone. It features Griffin’s SmartScan to automatically find and save three FM stations with the least interference and supports RDS allowing compatible radios to display track information on the head unit. The control dongle includes a display showing the frequency it’s broadcasting, as well as three buttons that allow you to control playback. Personally I’ve never been a fan of FM transmitters, but at the very least this one looks slick!
The iTrip AutoPilot will sell for $99.99 and is listed as “Coming Soon.” In addition to the iPhone it is compatible with all iPods with a dock connector.

iPhone leaves AT&T sitting pretty
The iPhone Central Depart of Statistical Analysis and Strategic Systems (yes, we do have SASS) brings you some more fascinating numbers, courtesy of Rubicon Consulting (the same firm that told us last month that iPhone users are young, rich, and technologically savvy). It seems that getting in the iPhone game…

Geniuses at AT&T Rush Out a Package with Only a Plastic Bag Inside
We’ve shown you irresponsible shipping before, but this one takes the cake. Brett from TUAW ordered a refurbed 16GB iPhone. He got (and was charged) for two by accident. OK, that’s annoying enough. But the next day he received another package from AT&T. It was shipped 2-day via DHL. Inside? One empty plastic bag, complete with an invoice for “75011 MISC iPhone PPA BAG … $0.00.”
Seriously, how does this happen? I know a lot of shipping is automated these days, but was there not a single person along the way who noticed that a package was going out with only a bag inside? Rush, no less! And how many times do things like this happen? It’s probably not an isolated incident if a writer from a prominent Apple blog happened to be on the receiving end of it. If you’re wondering where all those surcharges on your AT&T bill are going to, consider it a “We’re a poorly run company” tax to pay for garbage like this. [TUAW]

Xtand Makes iPhone Into Very Small, Underpowered iMac
The Xtand is a solid aluminum stand that not only holds your iPhone when your hands have better things to do, but does so in that “I’m an aluminum stand that looks like an iMac stand” kind of way. It’s 100% fanboy gear, but we have to admit, the 360-degree rotation and cable management system (aka hole in the back) actually look kind of convenient. No word on price at this time. If only Jeff Foxworthy’s career were alive right now, we could end this post with a decent “you might be an Apple fanboy if…” joke. Our condolences to his family. [JustMobile via MobilitySite]
