A while ago I reviewed Pro 21 Blackjack by Avalinx and was very impressed with the graphic content and ease of use. Baccarat, a game invented by the Italians in the 1400s and brought to France, is Avalinx's most recent casino game to come to the iPhone. Baccarat PRO has an in-depth rules and terminology tutorial and a strategy guide that is again provided by the popular "ask the dealer" option. I have never played Baccarat before but this game is easy to pick up, learn the rules, and start playing.

The graphic eye candy of Baccarat PRO is again extremely appealing. The dealer animations, deck movement and appropriate sounds repeat the casino quality atmosphere of Pro 21 Blackjack. The preferences allow you to change the table color and deck design, as well as several other game-related options. Controls are very intuitive, and are as simple as tapping the option you wish to bet on, tapping your chips to choose the amount to bet, and then tapping the deal button. The game again seems to take over and do the rest. There's also an in-game menu for easy access while you're playing. Baccarat keeps an ongoing record of final outcomes from hands you've played. You can use this to try to key into trends in the game, and you can double-tap this for a full "Shoe History." Finally, at any point in the game, you can "cash out," and your winnings will be saved to the leader board. There didn't seem to be a way to access this without cashing out, but no matter, it doesn't interrupt game play.

Avalinx has again dazzled the gambling world for the iPhone, I know have another reason to go to Las Vegas. It's $.99 for a limited time, then the price goes to $4.99, but compared to the amount you could lose not knowing the rules, it's a small price to pay.
