Flick – a game of observation and quick thinking
Filed under: Apple iPhone Apps, Apple iPhone SDK, iPhone App Reviews
Looking for a game that’s easy to pick up and intuitive to play, but still enough of a challenge to keep you entertained? If this sounds like you, Flick could be exactly what you’re looking for!
Flick is a new game for the iPhone, available at Apple’s iTunes App Store. It relies on observation and quick thinking, and provides many combinations of style, mode and difficulty to suit all ages and abilities. It’s also great for keeping kids entertained without having to spend ages teaching them how the game works!
So how does it work? An object appears in the centre of the screen, surrounded by 4 “categories”. Simply flick the object to the matching category by swiping your finger across the screen. For each object you get right, you earn 1 point; for each object you get wrong, you lose 1 point. Sound simple? Well, it is!
To keep things interesting, Flick provides several degrees of difficulty, ranging from colours (Easy) and shapes (Medium) to objects that have no direct visual link to their category (Hard). You can play in Timed or Sudden Death mode, and the categories change position (Flick Basic) or change completely (Flick Shuffle) at intervals that depend on the difficulty.
If you have a few minutes with nothing to do while you’re waiting for the bus or in line to get lunch, why not improve your observation skills and reaction time with a game of Flick?
